Providing access to adequate, affordable, reliable, good quality, safe and environmentally benign energy services to the world’s poor is within reach. The technologies for sustainable energy access – solar lighting and home power systems, advanced cookstoves, wind turbines, micro-hydro dams are among many that exist and are well understood. They need financing instruments, financing sources and distribution networks to succeed.
